Make-a-Ton, presented by CITTIC, invites innovative solutions to tackle issues faced by the world today. This 24 hour open hackathon provides a platform for university students to pitch their ideas in front of an eminent panel of judges. Projects and ideas can be presented even if they lack a full fledged business plan, as Make-a-Ton focusses on bringing out passionate innovators. Solutions can be provided to problems that fall under four different categories. Grand prizes await the winners!
The Centre for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Industrial Collaboration (CITTIC),the technology
business incubator of Cusat, has nurtured several young startups and has supported the growth of
technology in the student community. CITTIC was set up on the campus with central and state
government funding to provide a vibrant, innovative and entrepreneurial environment for faculty and
students to run university-linked startup companies.
No. There are 4 categories in this event and only one is exclusively for CUSAT students. The rest of the event is open to all.
Makeaton is an open hackathon, unlike other hackathons we don't stress too much on the marketing side of things. We believe in creating technology that can positively impact the world.
Yes, registration is free of charge. In order to ensure participation we will be charging Rs 400 which would be refunded at the end of the event. Incase you don't show up the amount will be forfeited.
Once you fill up and submit the typeform, your entries will be reviewed by a panel which will focus on having a diverse pool of contestants.
Currently the prize pool stands at 2 Lakhs. More details regarding the schedule, sponsors, main prizes and other category awards will be informed in a mail to the selected candidates by Sept 1st.
Yes, 5 meals and snacks will be provided for 2 days free of cost.
Yes, printed and digital certificates will be provided to all participants on completion.

It is a team event but registration should be done individually. Team formation can happen at the venue. A team shall contain a max of 5 and min of 3 participants.

No, we all start coding at the same time. It’s cool to work on designs beforehand, digital mockups, open source frameworks, and anything else available to everyone, but keep things within fair limits.
Hackathons are a great way to learn about new technology and make new friends. We want a diverse audience and beginners are welcome.
